ive played very little layton (i think i've only played professor layton and the curious village?), and much more ace attorney. and professor layton vs phoenix wright was fun, but it was rather easy. and unfortunately with how simple the layton puzzles were i did find myself getting rather bored with that part of the game and kinda just skipping ahead to the court scenes.

I remember trying to get the neutral ending, and after defeating Kenji and geting the final choice in the game, the law one would send me to the law ending and the chaos one sent me to the chaos ending, i was on the perfect sweet spot that made neutral impossible So i went with the white ending

The damn flute is the reason I never finished spirit tracks, the convoluted use of the mic is an accessibility issue. If we allow ourselves to count botw dlc, then the master trials would take my vote, the last one being such trouble that I learned speedrun strats and wall clipped out of an early chamber and back into the last chamber of the first trials because beating that again after entering the final trials counted as beating them.

Oddly enough, I have NEVER struggled with OOT's water temple. Never used a guide for that game except when I wanted all the heart pieces. The temple was easy mainly because the way I play zelda I just look for every secret in every room so nothing gets missed. What was tough was that stupid ass horseback poe shooting thing you had to do to get the 4th bottle. To this day that and getting all the gold skulltulas are the only things I refuse to do.

It's so wild, I love the Switch. It is hands down my favorite console of all time now. And I'm sure I'm not alone when I say when there's a game that optimizes Miis, it's a win. So it still fail to make sense why they absolutely shafted the concept that made Nintendo level up! LOL I'm just saying, there needs to be justice for the Miis.

Honestly. One thing too is that the generation that played the OG Nintendogs, grew up. We got older, we had relationships, Getting ready for prom, sports, work, going to college- it wasn’t until 2014 until I got my first 3DS. By that point, I couldn’t be asked to get involved with nintendogs because the game had been out for awhile and I just forgot about it especially with ORAS coming out and X and Y.

As a kid I got stuck in the forest dungeon in Ocarina of Time because I didn't get that I had to shoot the ghosts in the pictures. I was only able to finish the dungeon after a friend helped me with that. I beat the watertemple by myself though lol Nice list, I agree with most of the stuff there :)

Hardest part of Tears of the Kingdom is walking away from it for actual real-life responsibilities. I haven't had that much fun with a video game in a long, long time.

Nintendo Land was soooooo much fun. I still boot it up once a month. WiiU was really a great console that was ultimately let down by the developers. Nintendo gave studios a platform to make totally new games, and developers said naaah we just want to pump out yearly series

The no 3D demons on any of the 3DS SMT games actually make the games look amazing with 3D turned on. I usually never play with 3D on except when I’m playing Devil Survivor, Strange Journey, Soul Hackers, SMT4. The 2d enemies really pop with 3D. Plus as you mentioned Atlus was having financial trouble and put pretty much all they had into these games. We could have either got one AAA game or a bunch of handheld games. I think they made the best choice. Handhelds are super popular in Japan so it was the best place to get sales

It’s crazy how realistic it felt from the intro and discovering where you really were, and the whole path of getting down. I know it’s just a video game and you are running through different screens on a tiny screen but I really felt like I was there. Immersion is thrown around a lot, but I never really experienced it before until this game. This game likely won’t ever be ported but I do wish the DS/3DS Atlus games all were. I really think GBA/DS/3DS/PSP was peak Atlus. I’ve been less than impressed with their console offerings lately

One thing that puts me off SMT 4 are the visuals tbh. Overworld looks alright, but it's mostly a lot of green and red drab. What irks me the most is the Combat Screen. Turned based combat can already quickly become a chore but seeing your characters pull off cool stunts and attacks in real time can help alleviate the boredom. The last thing I want is a first person view like Earthbound (top tier game btw), where the only thing I can see are numbers, numbers and more numbers, that too with a hideous 2d monster backdrop that has the amazing monster designs disgustingly pixelated and no clear definitions. The combat system visually looks almost as a bad as strang journey's on the DS. Which is unacceptable. The least they could have done was make sure the battle screen does not look like puke. Just to clarify, I have zero issue with their choice to go 2d pixels with the monsters, but what I do have an issue with is their terrible execution of it. Monster designs don't have to look like puke, just because they are pixelated, FF 6 ON THE SNES HAD BETTER DEFINITION ON THEIR MONSTER DESIGN THAN SMT 4, that's just unacceptable.

I agree that Pandora's Box is the best in the series. It is a masterpiece with a great story. Also, I don't cry much, and it was the only Layton game that made me do that.

Cool anecdote about phantom hourglass and closing the DS I had gone days trying to do absolutely everything I could think of stayed up hours for about a week one night I decided to come back to it later while leaving my DS on and I closed it to put it in sleep mode. The next morning when I woke up and came back to the game it was magically solved. At the time I had no idea what caused the courage symbol to transfer until years later I found out closing the DS was the solution. To this day one of the biggest stumpers in my gaming career and during a time where looking it up online was not nearly as accessible

I don't get why people bitch so much about the Temple of the Ocean King during normal playthrough. Every visit has new shortcuts, so it feels fresh every time. It's the *postgame* (which is out of the scope of this video) that should be bitched about, where you need to visit the temple *daily* for two random boat parts.
